Qatargas 4's Train 7 begins operations

-- Qatargas has started up the 7.8-million tonne/year Train 7 of is Qatargas 4 project, according to media reports in the region.

The achievement allows Qatar to reach its long-stated goal of 77 million tpy export capacity and solidify its status as the world’s largest country supplier of LNG.

Qatargas 4 is jointly owned by Qatar Petroleum (70%) and Royal Dutch Shell PLC (30%). Train 7 is the last of the four megatrains constructed by Qatargas at Ras Laffan. In addition to its primary destination, the US, sale agreements have been signed with China and Dubai for LNG from Qatargas 4, said reports.
