Linn made permanent chief executive of Roc Oil

HOUSTON, Feb. 23 -- The board of Roc Oil Co. Ltd., Sydney, has appointed Alan Linn as chief executive officer, effective immediately.

Linn, who became acting chief executive officer in late October 2010 upon the resignation of Bruce Clement, was named to the position permanently after an international search firm considered several external candidates.

Linn joined the company in January 2008 as asset manager, Africa, and was appointed chief operating officer in October 2008. A chartered chemical engineer, he has more than 30 years of international operational and joint venture management experience with ExxonMobil Corp., Lasmo PLC, Cairn Energy, Tullow Oil, and African Arabian Petroleum.
