Murphy Oil makes executive appointment

Murphy Oil Corp. promoted Tom McKinlay to executive vice-president, worldwide downstream operations.

-- Murphy Oil Corp. promoted Tom McKinlay to executive vice-president, worldwide downstream operations.

McKinlay will maintain responsibility for worldwide manufacturing operations, which include refining, terminals, renewable energy, and international downstream operations, including Murphy Eastern Oil Co. and Murco Petroleum Ltd.

McKinlay joined Murphy in 1991, holding several positions with the company’s UK subsidiary until taking a brief hiatus in 2001. In 2005, he rejoined Murphy in the UK until promoted to general manager, supply and transportation. He then transferred to Murphy Oil Inc. in 2008. He was promoted to vice-president, US manufacturing, for Murphy Oil Corp. in 2009 and to senior vice-president in 2010.
