HOUSTON, Jan. 24
– The ADD-1 exploratory well tested gas from two formations on the Sebou Permit in Morocco’s Rharb basin, said Circle Oil Plc.

The well sustained 3.57 MMscfd on a 24/64-in. choke from the Main Hoot formation perforated at 969.6-974 m. It also sustained 1.89 MMscfd on a 16/64-in. choke from the Guebbas zone perforated at 889.4-891.5 m.

The rig is moving to test DRJ-6, the untested well from the previous drilling campaign, with a calculated 4 m of net gas pay in Guebbas. Then it will drill KSR-11, fifth and final well in the current campaign.

Circle Oil will postpone reentering or redrilling KAB-1, drilled in September 2010, which encountered drilling problems with swelling clay, pending third party evaluation and recommendation of a suitable drilling fluid to enable it to be successfully drilled, logged, and completed. This is required to counter a problem with swelling clay experienced on first drilling.
