HOUSTON, Jan. 27 – Cairn Energy PLC’s oil output from Rajasthan, India, has reached 125,000 b/d and cumulative production exceeded 27.5 million bbl in more than a year of sales to domestic refiners, the company said.
Cairn has drilled 122 development wells in Mangala field, 81 of which are completed.
The Mangala enhanced oil recovery pilot production and injection wells have been drilled and completed, and pilot production and injection began in the third quarter of 2010.
Bhagyam field development has started with 11 wells drilled, and contracts have been awarded for the construction of train four at the Mangala processing terminal (OGJ Online, May 20, 2010).
Cairn continues to work to secure the necessary government consents and approvals for completion of the partial sale of Cairn’s shareholding in Cairn India to Vedanta Resources PLC. Cairn expects to conclude the transaction before 15 April 2011 (OGJ Online, Aug. 23, 2010). Shareholders of both companies approved the deal last year.
