HOUSTON, Jan. 28 – Interpreters have identified a portfolio of Upper Cretaceous Jubilee-type prospects and leads on the Guyane Maritime block off French Guiana, said block operator Tullow Oil PLC.
Tullow identified the features following the acquisition and processing of a large 3D seismic program in late 2009-early 2010. The ENSCO 8503 semisubmersible is under contract to spud an exploratory well on the Zaedyus prospect in the first quarter of 2011.
Tullow has 27.5% interest in the license. Other partners are Shell with 45%, Total 25%, and Northpet Investments Ltd. 2.5%. Northern Petroleum PLC and Wessex Exploration PLC each own 50% equity interest in Northpet.
