HOUSTON, Jan. 28 -- Saudi Aramco awarded contracts for its Wasit gas onshore project, selecting SK Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd. and Samsung Engineering Ltd., both based in Seoul, according to an announcement earlier this week from Dhahran.
The Wasit gas program will process 2.5 bcfd of nonassociated Khuff gas from Arabiyah-Hasbah offshore field with production start-up scheduled in 2014.
SK Engineering was selected for a lump sum turnkey contract to perform the engineering, procurement, and construction for inlet and gas treatment, including building four gas-treating trains, flare and burn pits, and related electrical and control systems, including substations and process interface buildings.
It will also perform EPC for the sulfur-recovery units and utilities. This includes building four SRUs, sulfur loading, main pipe way, utilities, related electrical and control systems, including substations and process interface building.
SK Engineering will also perform EPC for NGL fractionation, including NGL inlet, NGL fractionation, product treating and storage, low-temperature flare, and control systems including substations and process interface buildings.
Samsung Engineering will also handle a lump sum turnkey contract to perform EPC of cogeneration and steam generation, including building four 150-Mw cogeneration units, three boilers, central control building, and electrical and nonelectrical utilities.
