  • 12/02/2011 -- Trinidad's tight gas supply to ease in early 2012, minister says
    Trinidad and Tobago’s petrochemical producers have been assured that the present natural gas shortage will be solved by February 2012. The assurance comes from Kevin Ramnarine, the Caribbean twin-island nation’s energy minister, who said the problem has nothing to do with a reserves shortage.

    US Senate Republicans introduced legislation that would deem the proposed Keystone XL crude oil pipeline federally approved 60 days after enactment if the Obama administration did not act. But several said they would rather see US President Barack Obama reverse his Nov. 11 decision to delay acting on TransCanada Inc.’s cross-border permit application for the project until after the 2012 elections.

    EOG Resources Inc. expects to begin drilling at the Vaca Muerta oil shale in Argentina's Neuquen basin within weeks, EOG Chief Executive Officer Mark Papa said Nov. 30 during an investors presentation at Jefferies 2011 Global Energy Conference in Houston.
