  Saudi Aramco has chosen Axens technologies for major processing units at the 400,000-b/d refinery it plans to build in the Jazan area of southern Saudi Arabia (OGJ Online, Feb. 9, 2011).
• 09/16/2011 -- KMEP to build, operate Parkway products pipeline
  Kinder Morgan Energy Partners LP will build and operate a 136-mile, 16-in. OD products pipeline—Parkway Pipeline—that will extend from refineries in Norco, La., to an existing petroleum transportation hub in Collins, Miss., owned by the Kinder Morgan-operated Plantation Pipe Line Co.

  Saudi Aramco Total Refinery & Petrochemicals Co. (Satorp) expects its $14 billion refinery at Jubail in Saudi Arabia to be fully operational by yearend 2013.

  Crosstex Energy started a binding open season for volume commitments for interstate common carrier transportation service on its new 130-mile, 12-in. OD Crosstex NGL Pipeline system, transporting unfractionated natural gas liquids from the Mont Belvieu, Tex., area to NGL fractionation facilities in Eunice and Riverside, La.

  Statoil and its partners in Troll natural gas field offshore Norway will invest 11 billion kroner for two new compressors on the Troll A platform, which has a concrete gravity-based substructure in 300 m of water.

  South African energy and chemicals group Sasol has chosen southwestern Louisiana for the site for its planned gas-to-liquids plant, the company announced today.
• 09/13/2011 -- UOP, Foster Wheeler units share Omani refinery expansion contract
  Foster Wheeler AG’s Global Engineering and Construction Group, through an agreement with Honeywell's UOP, recently received a contract from Oman Refineries and Petrochemicals Co. to provide basic engineering design for a solvent deasphalting unit at the Sohar refinery in Oman.
• 09/12/2011 -- OPEC again trims oil demand outlook
  Weaker economic recovery is negatively impacting oil demand, the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries said in its latest Monthly Oil Market Report as it reduced its forecasts for 2011 and 2012.
• 09/09/2011 -- Iraqi oil production expected to continue to climb
  Iraq’s oil production, now on track to reach 3 million b/d by yearend, could reach as high as 4 million b/d by yearend 2012, the country’s deputy oil minister said.
