  Encana Corp. and Pembina Pipeline Corp. have signed an agreement under which Pembina will invest about $230 million (Can.) to expand processing and liquids extraction capacities at Encana’s Resthaven natural gas processing plant in west-central Alberta.

• Thu Oct 06 14:28:00 CDT 2011 -- BP reports refinery fires in Germany, Spain
  BP PLC said a crude distillation unit (CDU) caught fire Oct. 4 at the 88,528-b/cd Lingen refinery in northwest Germany, causing one person to be hospitalized. The fire was brought under control in about 30 min, and damage was contained to that unit, a BP spokesman in London said.
• Wed Oct 05 12:33:00 CDT 2011 -- Iraq refinery to install heavy conversion technologies
  State Co. for Oil Projects (SCOP), part of the Iraqi Ministry of Oil, has awarded Axens IFP Group Technologies basic design and license contracts for construction of a refinery in Nassiriya, the supply company announced.
• Tue Oct 04 12:41:00 CDT 2011 -- NPRA changing name to 'better describe focus'
  The National Petrochemical & Refiners Association (NPRA) announced plans to change its name to the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) effective in late January. A red, blue, and white logo will accompany the new name. A new web site also is planned.

  Murphy Oil Corp. has completed the sales of its refineries in Meraux, La., and Superior, Wisc., as it withdraws from the refining business to concentrate on exploration and production (OGJ Online, July 23, 2010).
• Tue Sep 27 12:41:00 CDT 2011 -- ConocoPhillips seeks buyer for Trainer, Pa., refinery
  ConocoPhillips plans to sell its 185,000-b/cd refinery in Trainer, Pa., and associated pipelines and terminals. The major plans to close the plant in 6 months unless a buyer is found.

  Enterprise Products Partners LP is nearing completion on a series of infrastructure projects designed to enhance operations at its Neptune cryogenic natural gas processing facility in St. Mary Parish, La.
