    Encana Corp. and Pembina Pipeline Corp. have signed an agreement under which Pembina will invest about $230 million (Can.) to expand processing and liquids extraction capacities at Encana’s Resthaven natural gas processing plant in west-central Alberta.

    BP PLC said a crude distillation unit (CDU) caught fire Oct. 4 at the 88,528-b/cd Lingen refinery in northwest Germany, causing one person to be hospitalized. The fire was brought under control in about 30 min, and damage was contained to that unit, a BP spokesman in London said.

    State Co. for Oil Projects (SCOP), part of the Iraqi Ministry of Oil, has awarded Axens IFP Group Technologies basic design and license contracts for construction of a refinery in Nassiriya, the supply company announced.

    The National Petrochemical & Refiners Association (NPRA) announced plans to change its name to the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) effective in late January. A red, blue, and white logo will accompany the new name. A new web site also is planned.
