    Eagle Ford Gathering LLC, a 50-50 joint venture of Kinder Morgan Energy Partners LP and Copano Energy LLC, reached a long-term agreement with Williams Partners LP to process Eagle Ford shale production at Williams Partners' Markham processing plant in Matagorda County, Tex.

    Total SA signed a sale and purchase agreement to sell most of its marketing assets in the UK, the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man to Rontec Investments LLP, the company reported.
  • 06/22/2011 -- Canada's AltaGas gets final nod for Montney gas plant
    AltaGas Ltd., Calgary, has received final regulatory approval to begin building its 120-MMcfd Gordondale gas processing plant about 100 km northwest of Grande Prairie, Alta. The plant will be equipped with liquids extraction (OGJ, June 6, 2011, p. 88).

    Global refinery runs recovered in 2010, but early 2011 margins well below the past decade’s sometimes heady levels suggest excess capacity will exist and margins will stay low for another 5 years, an International Energy Agency official indicated on June 22.
  • 06/27/2011 -- More NGL fractionation scheduled for Texas production
    Enterprise Products Partners LP, Houston, plans to build a 75,000-b/d NGL fractionator at its Mont Belvieu, Tex., site. The plant, sixth in the company’s push, will accommodate continued growth of liquids-rich natural gas production from Texas’s Eagle Ford shale basin, the company said.

    Royal Dutch Shell PLC has agreed to form a 50-50 joint venture with Paques Holding BV, a Dutch water and air purification firm, to market biological desulfurization technology for use in oil and gas operations.
  • 07/01/2011 -- Kuwait's Al-Zour refinery gets approval
    Kuwait’s Oil Minister Mohammad al-Busairy said the Supreme Petroleum Council (SPC), the country’s highest decision-making body for oil policy, has approved construction of the 615,000 b/d Al-Zour refinery.
  • 07/05/2011 -- PDVSA lets Barinas hydroskimming contract
    Petroleos de Venezuela SA (PDVSA) has let a front-end engineering design (FEED) services contract to a Foster Wheeler subsidiary for the first-phase hydroskimming section of the 100,000-b/d Batalla Santa Ines Refinery under construction in Barinas, Venezuela.
