• 12/28/2011 -- EPA announces final 2012 renewable fuel requirements
  The US Environmental Protection Agency announced final 2012 percentages for four fuel categories under its renewable fuel standards (RFS), which were established under the 2007 Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA).
• 12/27/2011 -- EIA sees impacts from idling half of Northeast's refining capacity
  Reduced refining activity in the US Northeast, as reflected in recently announced plans to idle more than half of the region’s refining capacity, is likely to affect product supplies, the US Energy Information Administration said.
• 12/22/2011 -- Delaware City refinery due hydrocracker
  PBF Holding Co. LLC and affiliate Delaware City Refining Co. LLC have reported conditional plans to build a mild hydrocracker and hydrogen plant at their 190,000 b/d Delaware City, Del., refinery.

  Total, through its 100% affiliate PetroFina SA, has agreed to acquire the 35% interest held by ExxonMobil Petroleum & Chemical BVBA in Fina Antwerp Olefins.
• 12/20/2011 -- More processing treating planned for Delaware basin in West Texas
  Nuevo Midstream LLC plans to increase processing and treating capacity at its Ramsey plant in the Delaware basin near Orla, Tex.
• 12/20/2011 -- Feasibility study to rehabilitate Iraqi refinery planned
  South Refineries Co., a part of the Republic of Iraq’s Ministry of Oil, has awarded Shaw Group Inc. a contract to provide a feasibility study for the rehabilitation of its 140,000-b/d refinery in Basra. Shaw’s announcement did not disclose a contract value.
• 12/16/2011 -- Saudis to boost refining capacity, gas production by 2016
  Saudi Arabia’s refining capacity will reach 3.5 million b/d and its production of natural gas will hit 15 bcfd by 2016, according to a senior official.
• 12/15/2011 -- More Oklahoma cryo capacity under construction
  Superior Pipeline Co. LLC, Tulsa, is installing a 30-MMcfd cryogenic plant in Kay County, Okla. Superior is a wholly owned subsidiary of Unit Corp., Tulsa.
• 12/14/2011 -- Contract let for Uzbek gas-to-liquids plant
  Uzbekistan GTL LLC has extended an existing services contract of Technip for front-end engineering design of a gas-to-liquids plant 40 km south of Qarshi in Uzbekistan.
• 12/14/2011 -- Kentucky's Somerset refinery changes hands
  Continental Refining Co., Somerset, Ky., said it has purchased the inactive Somerset refinery and plans to resume processing crude by early summer 2012.
