  • 12/29/2011 -- Chesapeake Midstream Partners to buy Marcellus shale gathering lines
    Chesapeake Midstream Partners LP (CMP) agreed to acquire Appalachia Midstream Services LLC (AMS), a Chesapeake Energy Corp. subsidiary, for $865 million. The transaction provides CMP with a 47% stake in 200 miles of gathering pipelines in the Marcellus shale in Pennsylvania.
  • 12/28/2011 -- Breitling enters North Dakota's Bakken oil formation
    Irving, Tex., independent Breitling Oil & Gas Corp. acquired a nonoperated acreage position in Sand Creek field within the Bakken formation in McKenzie County, ND.
  • 12/28/2011 -- Williams to buy gathering system in Marcellus shale
    Williams Partners LP, Tulsa, reported it will acquire the Laser Northeast Gathering System and other midstream businesses from Delphi Midstream Partners LLC, a unit of American Securities LLC, and management, for about $750 million.
  • 12/28/2011 -- Quicksilver, KKR form partnership for Horn River midstream
    Units of Quicksilver Resources Inc., Fort Worth, and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. LP have formed a midstream partnership to build and operate natural gas midstream services in British Columbia and the Northwest Territories of Canada.
  • 12/22/2011 -- NETL seeks proposals to manage unconventional gas project impacts
    The National Energy Technology Laboratory has issued a request for proposals to study ways to improve environmental performance for unconventional natural gas projects.
  • 12/21/2011 -- EPRINC: US oil product export ban would raise costs
    Proposals to ban US petroleum product exports to ensure ample domestic supplies would raise costs for domestic consumers, the Energy Policy Research Institute (EPRINC) warned in a Dec. 21 briefing memorandum.
  • 12/20/2011 -- Crestwood to build Marcellus natural gas gathering system
    Crestwood Midstream Partners LP signed a memorandum of understanding with Mountaineer Keystone LLC (MK) to build a 42-mile, 16-in. OD Tygart Valley Pipeline natural gas gathering system, serving MK’s Marcellus shale development program in Northeast West Virginia.
  • 12/20/2011 -- Cheniere developing more gulf liquefaction in Corpus Christi
    Cheniere Energy Inc., which already is working to install natural gas liquefaction adjacent its Cameron Parrish, La., terminal, has announced its subsidiary Corpus Christi Liquefaction LLC is developing LNG export capabilities at one of Cheniere's existing sites previously permitted for regasification.
  • 12/20/2011 -- Oklahoma: Southeast Cana well tests gas, oil
    The Continental Resources Inc. Lyle 1-30H step-out and confirmation well in the Cana Woodford horizontal drilling play of Oklahoma flowed at rates of 7.1 MMcfd of natural gas and 325 b/d of oil during a 1-day test.
  • 12/16/2011 -- Newfield projects Uinta crude oil sales to Tesoro
    Newfield Exploration Co. has signed an agreement to supply 18,000 b/d of crude oil from its Uinta basin fields to Tesoro Corp.’s 60,000 b/d Salt Lake City, Utah, refinery.
