• 11/11/2011 -- Ras al Khaimah: Saleh redrill temporarily suspended
  RAK Petroleum PCL, Dubai, has temporarily suspended drilling the Saleh-5 well off Ras Al Khaimah after consultations with partner RAK Gas LLC, which exercised its 30% back-in option to the field redevelopment project by agreeing to pay its prorata share of past and forward costs.

  BG Group has made an oil discovery on the Block 22/15 second round license in the UK Central North Sea, said participant Canadian Overseas Petroleum Ltd., Calgary.
• 11/11/2011 -- HRT finds oil, gas at two Solimoes basin wildcats
  HRT Participacoes em Petroleo SA, Rio de Janeiro, encountered hydrocarbons at two exploratory wells in the Solimoes basin in northwestern Brazil.
• 11/11/2011 -- PetroQuest group has Louisiana Cris R Massive find
  PetroQuest Energy Inc., Lafayette, La., is completing the Thibodeaux-1 well, a gas-condensate discovery in Vermilion Parish, La. (OGJ Online, July 19, 2011).
• 11/10/2011 -- Final notice for next OCS lease sale includes revised terms
  The US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management issued a final notice for a Dec. 14 offshore oil and gas lease sale in New Orleans which includes revised terms and requirements. The sale in the western Gulf of Mexico will be the last under the current 5-year US Outer Continental Shelf program, US Department of the Interior officials noted on Nov. 10.

  TransAtlantic Petroleum Ltd., Dallas, signed an agreement in late October 2011 with a major international oil company to explore central Turkey’s Sivas basin.
• 11/10/2011 -- Casper is second North Falkland basin oil discovery
  An exploratory well 5.9 km southwest of the Sea Lion 14/10-2 well has made a second oil discovery in the North Falkland basin in the South Atlantic.
• 11/10/2011 -- Texas: Apache gauges oil, gas in Cline shale lateral
  Apache Corp.’s Permian Region said its first horizontal Cline shale horizontal well in Deadwood field of Glasscock County, Tex., was “somewhat disappointing” but its second well came in at 325 b/d of oil and 320 Mcfd of gas after a 10-stage slickwater frac.  
• 11/09/2011 -- BP drills Itaipu-2 appraisal well offshore Brazil
  BP PLC and its partners reported the successful drilling of the Itaipu-2 appraisal well on Block BM-C-32 in the presalt play offshore Brazil.
• 11/09/2011 -- Egypt: TransGlobe to appraise Western Desert find
  TransGlobe Energy Corp., Calgary, plans to appraise the Boraq oil and gas discovery and further explore the 558,120-acre South Alamein concession in Egypt’s Western Desert after it receives regulatory approval to close the acquisition of a 50% interest from Cepsa Egypt.
