    Harvest Natural Resources Inc., Houston, has spudded the first of two wildcats on 955,600-acre Qarn Alam Block 64 in east-central Oman.
  • 11/02/2011 -- Colombia: Ecopetrol, Talisman appraising Akacias
    Colombia’s state Ecopetrol, operator of the CPO-9 heavy oil block in the Llanos basin, spudded the first of several appraisal wells on the Akacias structure in October.
  • 11/01/2011 -- BSEE extends most gulf deepwater leases disrupted by moratorium
    The US Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) completed its review of 1,413 deepwater oil and gas lease extension requests in the Gulf of Mexico and extended 1,381, or 97.7%, of them for 1 year. Leases had to be in water deeper than 500 ft, with no production as of May 15 and expiration scheduled on or before Dec. 31, 2015.
