  • 11/11/2011 -- EOR projects planned for offshore Malaysia
    Petronas Carigali Sdn. Bhd. and Shell Malaysia signed an agreement for two 30-year production-sharing contracts for enhanced oil recovery projects offshore Sarawak and Sabah.
  • 11/10/2011 -- Libya's oil production rising faster than expected
    Libya’s interim Oil Minister Ali Tarhouni, bolstered by figures of the International Energy Agency, said his country should see a rise in production to 700,000 b/d by yearend, with full prewar production expected in June 2012.
  • 11/09/2011 -- Niko signs deepwater drilling contract for Indonesia
    Niko Resources Ltd., Calgary, signed a drilling contract to use Diamond Offshore Drilling Inc.’s Ocean Monarch semisubmersible, currently moored, offshore Indonesia. The contract covers 4 years and has a 1-year option.
  • 11/08/2011 -- Greenland: Cairn Atammik wells encounter shows
    Cairn Energy PLC said it has encountered hydrocarbon shows at two wells on the Atammik block off western Greenland and will continue operations through November.
  • 11/07/2011 -- Flow starts from small gas field offshore India
    State-owned Oil & Natural Gas Corp. of India has started production of natural gas from the BS-13 satellite field in its B-22 cluster project in Bassein oil and gas field in the Mumbai High area offshore western India.
  • 11/04/2011 -- PSAC forecasts stepped up drilling in Canada for 2012
    The Petroleum Services Association of Canada forecasts a total of 15,100 wells to be drilled across Canada in 2012, an increase of 10% over the expected final tally of 13,700 for 2011.
  • 11/04/2011 -- US drilling rig count rises
    US crude oil and natural gas drilling rig activity this week increased by 5 units to reach a total of 2,026 rigs working. This week’s count is up by 343 units from the comparable period a year ago, Baker Hughes Inc. reported.
  • 11/04/2011 -- California: Ventura shallow heavy oil drilling planned
    Sefton Resources Inc., Denver, said its TEG Oil and Gas USA Inc. unit will begin drilling four new wells in mid-November from existing pads in Tapia heavy oil field in the eastern Ventura basin in Los Angeles County, Calif.
  • 11/03/2011 -- Texas: Crimson eyes horizontal Woodbine well
    Crimson Exploration Inc., Houston, has acquired 4,700 gross (4,600 net) acres in Madison County, Tex., contiguous to Madisonville field, bringing its total position in Madison and Grimes counties to 19,000 gross (15,500 net) acres.
