  • 11/23/2011 -- Powder River cyclic carbon dioxide injection nears
    Linc Energy Ltd., Brisbane, will soon start cyclic carbon dioxide injection into one of several fields in which it plans to implement enhanced oil recovery projects in the Powder River basin in Wyoming.
  • 11/21/2011 -- Energy Institute publishes subsea guidelines
    The Energy Institute, London, supported by Subsea UK, Aberdeen, has published new guidelines for improving reliability and obsolescence in subsea systems.
  • 11/21/2011 -- Uzbekistan: Tethys eyes two redevelopment contracts
    Tethys Petroleum Ltd. and Uzbekneftegaz will negotiate between now and May 1, 2012, for Tethys to obtain production enhancement contracts for West Kruk oil field and for the Chegara group of oil fields in Uzbekistan.
  • 11/18/2011 -- US drilling rig count falls another 15 units
    US crude oil and natural gas drilling rig activity this week fell by 15 units to reach a total of 2,001 rigs working. This week’s count is up by 324 units from the comparable period a year ago, Baker Hughes Inc. reported.
  • 11/17/2011 -- Perdido well in gulf sets water depth record for a subsea producer
    A completed subsea well in the Gulf of Mexico's Tobago field set a producing well water depth record of 9,627 ft, according to Shell Oil Co.
  • 11/17/2011 -- Dana lets contract for Western Isles oil development
    Dana Petroleum PLC, a subsidiary of the Korean National Oil Corp., let a £8 million contract to Aker Solutions for project management, engineering, procurement, and construction of several subsea systems for its Western Isles development on UK Block 210/24a.
  • 11/15/2011 -- Kenai Offshore buys jack up for Cook Inlet drilling
    Buccaneer Energy Ltd. said its 50% owned subsidiary Kenai Offshore Ventures LLC completed the $68.5 million acquisition of the GSF Adriatic XI jack up rig from Transocean Offshore Resources Ltd.
  • 11/15/2011 -- Nexen signs N. Sea drilling contract for Ensco 120 jack up
    Nexen Petroleum signed a drilling contract with Ensco PLC to hire the Ensco 120, a harsh-environment jack up rig that Nexen will use on its Golden Eagle development in the central North Sea to drill at least 10 wells.

    US crude oil and natural gas drilling rig activity this week decreased by 10 units to reach a total of 2,016 rigs working. This week’s count is up by 331 units from the comparable period a year ago, Baker Hughes Inc. reported.
  • 11/11/2011 -- Lundin lets contract for Brynhild development offshore Norway
    A unit of Lundin Petroleum AB signed a 700 million kroner contract with Aker Solutions for the engineering, procurement, and construction of a subsea production system for the Brynhild project, offshore Norway.
