HOUSTON, Nov. 11
– Crimson Exploration Inc., Houston, is drilling its first operated well in Sabine County, Tex.

It has 37.5% working interest in Bengal-1, on the Tiger prospect, drilling beyond 15,400 ft in a planned 4,500-ft lateral targeting Mid-Bossier shale. Completion is set for the end of December. Blue-1, also at Bruin, is to spud toward Haynesville or Mid-Bossier shales after Bengal-1 reaches TD.

In San Augustine County, Gobi-1 on the Bruin prospect is undergoing a 14-stage frac. It is a Mid-Bossier test at 18,000 ft measured depth with a 4,400-ft lateral. Crimson’s interest is 70%. The Eagle Oil & Gas Halbert Trust-1, on the Fairway Farms prospect, is to flow to sales shortly after a 14-stage frac in a 4,200-ft lateral. Measured TD is 17,786 ft. Crimson’s interest is 29%.
