HOUSTON, Nov. 5 – Seneca Resources Corp., Williamsville, NY, built Marcellus shale gas production to 53 MMcfd on Sept. 30, the end of fiscal 2010, having produced 7.2 bcf equivalent since the first well went on line in Tioga County, Pa., in November 2009.
Companywide production for the fiscal year was up 16.8% to 49.7 bcfe. Output rose 90% in Appalachia, with Marcellus production and higher output from Upper Devonian wells more than offsetting small production declines in California and the Gulf of Mexico.
The Marcellus produced 2.9 bcfe in the fourth fiscal quarter.
