HOUSTON, Nov. 23
– Hess Corp., New York, plans to drill a deepwater exploratory prospect in the first quarter of 2011 in the Banda Sea off West Papua, eastern Indonesia.

The Andalan prospect lies in 6,000 ft of water on the Semai V block 87 miles south-southwest of giant Vorwata field and other gas fields that feed the Tangguh LNG project.

Hess, which holds 100% working interest in the block, sees a gross resource range of 5-15 tcf in the large, four-way structure.
