HOUSTON, Nov. 5
-- ConocoPhillips has received government approval for development of Jasmine gas and condensate field in the “J-Block” area of the central UK North Sea.

It will develop the field, which it describes as “a significant accumulation,” with a wellhead platform and separate bridge-linked accommodation-utility platform, tied back via a multiphase pipeline and new riser platform to production facilities on Judy field 5.5 miles east.

Water depth is about 85 m.

Subsea 7 Inc. has a contract for engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning of two 4-km pipeline bundle systems and associated pipe-in-pipe spools to join the Judy riser platform with the Jasmine wellhead platform.

Subsea 7 also will install 9 km of power and communications cable connecting the riser platform with the Jasmine accommodation platform and related umbilicals and tie-ins.

Production at undisclosed rates is to start in 2012, according to Eni, a 33% partner.

ConocoPhillips, operator, holds a 36.5% interest. BG holds the remaining 30.5%.
