Texas-Gulf Coast

HOUSTON, July 22
-- New Gulf Energy LLC, Tulsa, through its Petro Texas LLC subsidiary, and PetroMax Operating Co., Garland, Tex., are completing Well No. 11 in a horizontal Woodbine oil project northeast of College Station in Madison, Brazos, and Grimes counties, Tex.

The companies are drilling laterals as long as 8,000 ft with as many as 33 frac stages. The last several wells had initial production in excess of 1,000 b/d of oil and 300 Mcfd of gas. The Wilson Unit A-2H flowed an initial 1,200 b/d and 700 Mcfd of gas.

Estimated ultimate recovery using the latest evolved completion methods exceed 500,000 bbl/well of oil. The company has installed an extensive gas gathering system and is using gas lift at older wells. New Gulf Energy owns an average 50% working interest in the field.

A drilling inventory of more than 33 long-lateral proved undeveloped locations remains. The companies plan to continue the current pace of completing one horizontal well per month.
