HOUSTON, July 27
– Five companies have joined a collaborative exploitation project for the Marcellus shale in northeastern Pennsylvania, said Object Reservoir Inc., Houston.

Participants in the project, which is open to subscription for other operators for a limited time, are East Resources, EOG Resources, EXCO Resources (with JV partner BG Group), and Ultra Resources.

Object Reservoir’s previous multicompany initiatives include CEPs for the Haynesville and Montney shales. The company plans continuing collaborative and proprietary projects for these and other shale plays.

The objectives of the CEPs are to collaboratively refine best practices for shale well stimulation and spacing and to advance the state of knowledge of these shale plays for optimal exploitation and monetization of operators’ assets.
