– Murphy Oil Corp. said its Drees A-79 1-H well in Karnes County, Tex., flowed at initial rates of 1,462 b/d of oil and 1.25 MMcfd of gas from Eagle Ford shale.

The well, which had a 30-day average of 1,264 b/d and 1.1 MMcfd, produced from a 4,985-ft lateral after a 15-stage frac treatment. Measured total depth is 17,340 ft. Murphy owns 100% working interest.

Murphy has accumulated more than 200,000 net acres and is running two rigs in the play. The company’s focus is on appraising and ultimately developing this part of the acreage while continuing to assess its holdings elsewhere in the play.
