HOUSTON, May 4 – Forest Oil Corp. will begin a drilling program in the Eagle Ford shale play in South Texas after it shoots seismic over part of its acreage in the second and third quarters of 2010.
The company has been buying acreage since 2009 and held 106,000 gross, 102,000 net prospective acres as of Mar. 31, 2010, in Gonzales, Lee, Wilson, Atascosa, and DeWitt counties. About 81,000 of the gross and net acreage is in the play’s oil window in Gonzales and Wilson counties.
