HOUSTON, Apr. 29 -- Tenaska Capital Management LLC announced Apr. 28 the start of construction of its TPF II East Texas Gathering LLC natural gas gathering system serving the Haynesville shale formation in East Texas. Tenaska said the 110-mile, 24-in. OD system will have a design capacity of more than 1 bcfd of gas. The system will initiate gas deliveries by midyear.

ETG will cross the Texas portion of the Haynesville shale gas formation in Nacogdoches, San Augustine, Sabine, Shelby, and Panola Counties, interconnecting with multiple pipelines in the region.

Energy Transfer Partners also is increasing its Haynesville capacity, announcing earlier in April both US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approval of its 2 bcfd Tiger Pipeline interstate transmission project and an extension of its Acadian gas pipeline system. Work on both projects is scheduled for 2011 completion (OGJ, Apr. 19, 2010, Newsletter).

Tenaska Midstream Services LLC is participating in development of a new 16-mile gas gathering line with Superior Appalachian Pipeline LLC to carry gas from wells in Preston County, W.Va., to the Columbia Transmission System, serving markets in Virginia, the District of Columbia, and Maryland. The system can be expanded to connect with the Texas Eastern Transmission interstate pipeline and is expected to be completed during this year’s fourth quarter.
