HOUSTON, Mar. 1
– Aurelian Oil & Gas PLC let an engineering, procurement and construction management contract to ILF Consulting Engineers, Warsaw, for a pilot central production facility to treat gas from its Siekierki tight gas project near Poznan in west-central Poland.

The contract, awarded through Aurelian’s 90% owned Polish unit Energia Zachod, covers facilities designed to produce and treat as much as 11 MMscfd of gas that can be upgraded during full field development to a processing capacity of up to 106 MMscfd.

Gas sales should start from the first two Siekierki horizontal wells in the second half of 2011. Aurelian’s vertical Trzek-1 well flowed 7.5 MMscfd in 2007 from a Permian Rotliegendes sandstone below 3,000 m (OGJ Online, July 16, 2007). Trzek-2, a vertical hole with a sidetrack 1,500 m back towards Trzek-1, is to spud in June 2010.
