HOUSTON, Mar. 8 – Reliance Industries Ltd., Mumbai, began drilling off India with the Dhirubhai Deepwater KG2 newbuild ultradeepwater drillship.
Owned by a joint venture of Transocean Ltd. and Pacific Drilling Ltd., the unit can drill as deep as 35,000 ft in as much as 12,000 ft of water. It is working under a 5-year contract to Reliance.
