HOSUTON, Mar. 31 -- ExxonMobil Exploration & Production Tanzania Ltd. agreed to take a 35% interest in deepwater Block 2 off Tanzania from operator Statoil Tanzania AS.
The Tanzania government approved the transaction earlier this month. Statoil now holds 65% interest in the 11,099-sq-km block for which it signed a production-sharing agreement in 2007.
A 3D seismic survey was completed in February.
