HOUSTON, Mar. 17
-- ConocoPhillips Skandinavia AS has let a contract to Aker Solutions for the engineering, procurement, and construction of a platform jacket and bridge support jacket for the new Ekofisk 2/4L accommodations platform, to be installed on Block 2/4 off Norway.

Aker Solutions will execute the contract at its yard in Verdal. The EPC contract includes load-out and sea fastening of the steel jacket, bridge support jacket, and associated piles. Detailed engineering starts immediately, while fabrication in Verdal will begin in November.

The jacket and bridge support jacket are due for delivery in spring 2012, Aker Solutions said.

Ekofisk lies in 70-75 m of water. Production from the field started in 1971. The field's average oil production during 2009 was 194,000 b/d.
