HOUSTON, Mar. 1
-- GeoPark Holdings Ltd. tested two new oil wells—Alakaluf-6 and Alakaluf-8—on the Fell Block in Chile’s Magallanes basin.

The company’s 2010 work program totals more than $50 million for 14-18 wells, 2D and 3D seismic surveys, and an expansion of its production infrastructure (OGJ Online, Jan. 13, 2010).

Alakaluf-6 went to a TD of 2,244 m. It flowed on a production test of a 10-m perforated interval in the Springhill formation at 2,182 m at a rate of 774 b/d of oil with no water through a 16-mm choke with 137 psi wellhead pressure. The well is on production.

Alakaluf-8 went to 2,263 m, and a production test of an 8-m perforated Springhill interval at 2,176 m tested at the rate of 234 b/d of oil without water. A beam pump is being installed.

Dicky-1 went to TD 2,895 m, and several Springhill production tests at 2,835 m tested water and gas. A bridge plug failed, and upper zones remain prospective and warrant more tests.

Guanaco-3 well went to TD 2,751 m and was to be tested in the Springhill, and Aonikenk Sur-1 was spud Feb. 15.
