Contract let for work on Lakach gas field

-- Cia. Mexicana de Exploraciones (Comesa) has awarded a technical assistance contract to Technip for prefront-end engineering of infrastructure for deepwater Lakach gas field.

The field, operated by Petroleos Mexicanos, lies 37 miles off Veracruz, Mexico, in 3,300 ft of water.

Lakach field development consists of a subsea tie-back to shore through dual flowlines and includes a new onshore gas plant. The contract includes specialized technical assistance for Pemex.

Lakach production is to begin in 2013 at an initial rate of 23 MMcfd of gas (OGJ, Jan. 11, 2010, p. 29).
