    Fears of global LNG oversupply in late 2008 have proven overblown by late 2010, said Betsy Spomer, BG Group vice-president regional business development, Americas and global LNG. She spoke to the opening session of CWC’s World LNG Summit Nov. 30 in Barcelona.
  • 11/29/2010 -- Gazprom unit awards FEED contract for Shtokman export terminal
    Giprospetsgas JSC, project general designer for the Shtokman gas-condensate field development, earlier this month awarded CB&I Lummus a contract for the front-end engineering and design for Shtokman project LNG storage and loading at the sea port in Terriberka in the Murmansk region of the Russian Federation.
  • 11/24/2010 -- Enagas to acquire Iberdrola's gas transportation assets
    Enagas will acquire all of Iberdrola’s natural gas transportation assets for about €12.5 million ($16.7 million), pending regulatory approval.
  • 11/24/2010 -- BLM releases EA for Magnum gas storage project
    The US Bureau of Land Management, as a cooperating agency with the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, released the environmental assessment (EA) for the proposed Magnum gas storage project and proposed Pony Express resource management plan amendment on Nov. 23.
  • 11/22/2010 -- Trans Adriatic Pipeline begins route refinement in Greece
    The Trans Adriatic Pipeline, designed to deliver natural gas from the Caspian region to Europe via Greece, Albania, and Italy, has begun its route refinement study in Greece in preparation of the environmental and social impact assessment required by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
  • 11/19/2010 -- FERC launches probes of KMIGT, Ozark gas line rates
    The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission launched investigations on Nov. 18 into rates charged by Kinder Morgan Interstate Gas Transmission LLC (KMIGT) and Ozark Gas Transmission LLC (OGT) to determine if the interstate natural gas pipelines are overcharging their customers.
  • 11/18/2010 -- OPAL natural gas pipeline reaches Czech Republic
    The Ostsee-Pipeline-Anbindungs-Leitung (OPAL) pipeline, which eventually will extend 470 km to link the Nord Stream Pipeline to Eastern Europe, has been laid across the German-Czech border, according to company officials.

    Sydney-based Papua New Guinea company Oil Search Ltd. farmed into four new exploration permits offshore and onshore Papua New Guinea as part of its LNG expansion plans.
  • 11/15/2010 -- El Paso Pipeline to hike stakes in LNG terminal, pipelines
    El Paso Pipeline Partners LP, Houston, will buy the remaining 49% interest it currently does not own in Southern LNG Co. LLC and El Paso Elba Express Co. LLC and an additional 15% interest in Southern Natural Gas Co. from parent El Paso Corp., the companies reported.
  • 11/15/2010 -- Ecopetrol, six firms partner in Colombian pipeline project
    Colombia’s Ecopetrol is joining with six other firms to build and operate a 450,000 b/d oil pipeline system that will transport crude from Araguaney, in the Casanare Department of central Colombia, to the Covenas Export Terminal on the Caribbean Sea.
