OGDC finds oil, gas with Nashpa well in Pakistan

KARACHI, Sept. 4
-- Pakistan Oil & Gas Development Co. (OGDC) has discovered oil and natural gas with its Nashpa No. 1 exploratory well, drilled in Karak district in Pakistan’s North-West Frontier Province.

The well flowed 3,000 b/d of oil and 9.7 MMcfd of natural gas mmcf per day of gas on a 32/64-in. choke at 2,340 psi flowing wellhead pressure. The well is a joint venture of OGDC, PPL 30%, and Government Holdings (Pvt.) Ltd. 5%. The well, which was spudded on June 29, was drilled to a target depth of 4,384 m.

OGDC also made an oil and gas discovery with its Baloch No. 1 exploratory well on Sinjhoro Block in Sindh province’s Sanghar district.

The well was drilled to a target depth of 3,463 m. The well flowed 780 b/d of oil and 3.5 MMcfd of gas on a 32/64-in. choke with 880 psi wellhead flowing pressure.
