Calvalley appoints Kont president, chief operating officer

HOUSTON, June 3 -- Calvalley Petroleum Inc., Calgary, has appointed Memet Kont as president and chief operating officer.

Kont joined Calvalley in April 2008 as COO. He has more than 15 years of international oil and gas industry experience in a range of exploration, development, reserves evaluation, capital markets, and new business generation activities. Previous employers include UBS Securities, Jennings Capital, McDaniel & Associates, and Geological Survey of Canada.

Edmund Shimoon continues as chairman and chief executive officer of Calvalley and will focus on business development.
