LOS ANGELES, May 15 -- Jim Gallogly, most recently executive vice-president, exploration and production, at ConocoPhillips, has been named chief executive officer of polyolefin supplier for LyondellBasell.
Gallogly had served 29 years with ConocoPhillips, and earlier spent 6 years as president of Chevron Phillips Chemical Co., a joint venture with Chevron Corp.
Gallogly's appointment at LyondelBasell, which currently has several units in bankruptcy protection, must be approved by the US bankruptcy court overseeing the firm's restructuring.
Gallogly succeeds Volker Trautz, who LyondellBasell said will retire.
Meanwhile, as a result of Gallogly's move, ConocoPhillips announced several senior management changes, including:
-- Ryan M. Lance, currently president, E&P-Asia, Africa, Middle East, and Russia/Caspian, will become senior vice-president, E&P-international.
-- Kevin O. Meyers, currently president, Canada, E&P, will become senior vice-president, E&P-Americas.
-- Kevin J. Mitchell, currently general manager, finance, strategy, and planning, E&P, will become vice-president, E&P-strategy, administration, and technical services.
Lance, Meyers, Mitchell, and Larry E. Archibald, vice-president, E&P-exploration, will report to John Carrig, president and chief operating officer.
