Apache makes promotions to executive positions

Apache Corp., Houston, has promoted Roger B. Plank, John A. Crum, and Rodney J. Eichler to executive positions within the office of the chief executive.

HOUSTON, Feb. 20 -- Apache Corp., Houston, has promoted Roger B. Plank, John A. Crum, and Rodney J. Eichler to executive positions within the office of the chief executive. They will report to G. Steven Farris, chairman and chief executive officer.

Plank, Apache's chief financial officer since 1997, was named Apache president. He has been an executive vice-president since 2000. In addition to his current responsibilities, Plank will lead the business development, internal audit, and policy and governance groups.

Crum, president of Apache Canada Ltd. since 2007, was named cochief operating officer and president of North American operations. He was named executive vice-president in 2000. Crum will lead the Gulf Coast, Central, and Canada regions, as well as the worldwide drilling, corporate environment, health, and safety, and purchasing groups.

Eichler, general manager of Apache's Egypt region since 1997, was named cochief operating officer and president, international. He has served as an executive vice-president since 2000. He will head the North Sea, Egypt, Australia, and Argentina regions.
