    US drilling activity continued to climb for the fourth consecutive week, up by 18 rotary rigs to 966 working, compared with 1,870 during the same period a year ago, said Baker Hughes Inc.

    StatoilHydro expects plateau production of 1.5 million standard cu m/day of natural gas in 2009-10 from the Tune South satellite well, which was tied back to Oseberg field in the Norwegian North Sea.

    Recent drilling results have strengthened earlier estimates of 10 bcf of ultimate gas recovery from individual horizontal wells in the Horn River basin shales of Northeast British Columbia, said Apache Corp.
  • 07/31/2009 -- US rotary rig count continues to gain
    US drilling activity increased again this week with the addition of 5 rotary rigs, bringing the total working units to 948, far below the 1,951 that were drilling in the same period a year ago, according to the latest count by Baker Hughes Inc. July 31.
