  • 09/08/2009 -- Petrominerales hikes Llanos basin production
    Petrominerales Ltd., Bogota, said its Boa-1 exploration well, formerly B1, on the Corcel block in the Llanos basin is making more than 6,000 b/d of 19° gravity oil, hiking the company’s output in Colombia above 25,000 b/d.
  • 09/04/2009 -- US drilling rig count climbs above 1,000 units
    US drilling activity continued to climb, with 10 more rotary rigs active this week for a total 1,009 units—just slightly more than half the 2,013 units drilling in the same period a year ago, Baker Hughes Inc. reported.

    Cairn India Ltd. started oil production at its Mangala field in Rajasthan state in part of the larger complex of Mangala, Bhagyam, and Aishwariya (MBA) fields.

  • 08/28/2009 -- US drilling rig count climbs to just shy of 1,000
    US drilling activity continued to climb, with 14 more rotary rigs returning to work for a total 999 this week, still well below the 2,031 units that were drilling in the same period a year ago, Baker Hughes Inc. reported.
  • 08/28/2009 -- Minister sees 4% decline in Mexico's oil output in 2010
