BG Group signs LNG supply deal with Hong Kong

Castle Peak Power Co. (CAPCO), Hong Kong, signed a heads of agreement on June 20 with BG LNG Trading, a subsidiary of BG Group PLC, to import 1 million tonnes/year of LNG from BG, for up to 20 years, starting in 2013.

LONDON, June 23 -- Castle Peak Power Co. (CAPCO), Hong Kong, signed a heads of agreement on June 20 with BG LNG Trading, a subsidiary of BG Group PLC, to import 1 million tonnes/year of LNG from BG, for up to 20 years, starting in 2013.

The LNG, supplied from the company's global portfolio, will be delivered to the new receiving terminal on South Soko Island.

BG Group's supply sources are Equatorial Guinea LNG, Nigeria LNG, Egyptian LNG, and Atlantic LNG in Trinidad and Tobago.

In addition, BG Group recently formed an alliance with Queensland Gas Co. Ltd. to cooperate in the development of a proposed 3-4 million-tons/year liquefaction plant in eastern Australia.
