Marathon announces organizational changes

Marathon Oil Corp. announced organizational appointments among its senior management team, all of which are effective Apr. 1.

HOUSTON, Mar. 5 -- Marathon Oil Corp. announced organizational appointments among its senior management team, all of which are effective Apr. 1.

Steven B. Hinchman, currently senior vice-president, worldwide production, was named executive vice-president, technology and services.

David E. Roberts Jr., currently senior vice-president, business development, was named executive vice-president, upstream.

R. Douglas Rogers, currently organizational vice-president, health, safety, and environment, has been named vice-president, HSE.

Daniel J. Sullenbarger, currently vice-president, corporate responsibility, was named vice-president, corporate compliance and ethics.

Hinchman joined the company in 1980 as a field engineer and subsequently held a number of upstream technical, staff, and managerial positions. Previously, Hinchman was senior vice-president, production operations.

Roberts joined Marathon in 2006 as senior vice-president, business development, and has served as a member of Marathon's executive committee. He previously served as executive vice-president and managing director for BG Group with responsibility for Asia and the Middle East. Prior to joining BG, he served as advisor to the vice-chairman of Chevron Corp.

Rogers, who joined the company in 1985 as a pipeline engineer, held various engineering related positions before moving into Marathon's HSE organization in 1997. He was previously manager of Marathon Petroleum Co. LLC's environment, safety, and security organization.

Sullenbarger, who joined the company in 1975, previously served as vice-president, HSE.
