By OGJ editors
HOUSTON, Jan. 29 -- Gas production started late last month from A12 field off the Netherlands, said Chevron Exploration & Production Netherlands BV.

Current production of 98.5 MMscfd is expected to ramp up to 111 MMscfd soon. The A12 central processing platform on Block A12 has a design processing capacity of 125 MMscfd.

A12 field is the first stage of a multiphase development of shallow gas fields in the A&B Blocks of the Netherlands part of the continental shelf.

The development included installation of a central processing platform, an export pipeline connecting the platform to the A6-F3 pipeline, and drilling and completion of seven development wells.

Gas from A12 field will be transported to Den Helder through the A6-F3 and NOGAT pipelines.

Joint venture partners are Dyas BV, DSM Energie BV, and state-owned Energie Beheer Nederland BV.
