Repsol's Huacaya X-1 well finds gas in Bolivia

Repsol YPF SA has announced the discovery of a natural gas field in Bolivia, saying gas flowed 800,000 cu m/day in production tests at the Huacaya X-1 exploratory well.

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 14 -- Repsol YPF SA has announced the discovery of a natural gas field in Bolivia, saying gas flowed 800,000 cu m/day in production tests at the Huacaya X-1 exploratory well.

It said the well, drilled to 4,800 m over a period of 18 months, is on the Caipipendi Block, in the department of Chuquisaca.

Repsol YPF is operator of the block in which it holds a 37.5% interest. Its partners are BG PLC 37.5% and Pan American Energy 25%.
