TAQA makes senior management appointments

Abu Dhabi National Energy Co. (TAQA) has made several senior management appointments, as the company readies itself for rapid international expansion.

HOUSTON, Feb. 19 -- Abu Dhabi National Energy Co. (TAQA) has made several senior management appointments, as the company readies itself for rapid international expansion, said Chief Executive Officer Peter Barker-Homek, a former BP PLC executive.

TAQA, an energy investment company, was formed in June 2005.

The company appointed Ian MacDonald group vice-president, upstream. He has more than 30 years of experience in the upstream industry, including various technical and management roles with Amoco and BP in Canada, Texas, Trinidad and Tobago, Egypt, and Norway. Since 2000, MacDonald has served as a petroleum engineering-business development consultant with Adams Pearson Associates and BP.

Separately, Ron Heyselaar was appointed as the TAQA group vice-president, global power. Heyselaar has decades of experience in the industry, most recently at National Power Co. of Saudi Arabia. Previously, he worked for CMS Energy in management roles in Europe and the Middle East.
