HOUSTON, Jan. 11 -- Philippe Boisseau, Total SA senior vice-president, exploration and production, and president, Middle East, has been appointed president of Total Gas & Power. He will succeed newly appointed E&P President, Yves-Louis Darricarrère (OGJ Online, Nov. 15, 2006).
Separately, Ladislas Paszkiewicz, president of Total Austral, the group's Argentinean E&P subsidiary, has been appointed president, Middle East, succeeding Boisseau.
The appointments become effective in February, when Christophe de Margerie assumes the role of chief executive officer.
Boisseau joined Denver-based Total Refining & Marketing in 1995 as oil supply manager. He served in the refining division as products trading manager, Europe, in 1997-98, at which time he was named strategic planning manager for Argentina in the E&P division. In 1999 he was appointed general manager of Total Austral. Since March 2002 he served as president of Total E&P in the Middle East and a member of the management committee since January 2005.
Paszkiewicz joined Total in 1985 in the finance division. In 1992-93, he headed Total's investor relations department in New York and in 1994-98 was responsible for treasury operations for Total, Paris, before being appointed vice-president, investor relations in 2000. He joined Total's E&P division in 2004 and was appointed general manager of Total Austral in 2005.
