Toreador makes executive management changes

HOUSTON, Jan. 29 -- Nigel Lovett has been elected Toreador Resources Corp. president and chief executive officer. He succeeds G. Thomas Graves III, who has resigned.

Lovett most recently served as managing partner for Horsley Partners LLC in New York. He has extensive international experience, working in London and Tokyo, as well as with the government of Saudi Arabia and the Central Bank of Indonesia. Lovett began his career as an accountant at Price Waterhouse in London, and he has worked for investment firms Lehman Brothers and Paine Webber, focusing mainly on the oil and gas industry.

Separately, Herbert C. Williamson III was appointed vice-chairman, a new position.

Williamson is a private investor with a background in corporate finance. He has had oil and gas experience throughout his career, with a strong focus on international activities in countries such as France, Australia, Colombia, and Egypt. From 1985-95, he served as vice-chairman and executive vice-president for Parker & Parsley Petroleum.
