    A stratigraphic test has confirmed the existence of a carbonate platform and found oil shows in the Northern Apennine Thrust in south-central Italy, said Pentex Italia Ltd. and Ascent Resources PLC.

    Saudi Aramco has signed a contract with Belgium dredging contractor Jan De Nul for work that will aid development of offshore Manifa oil and gas field, which is expected to produce 900,000 b/d of Arabian Heavy crude and 120 MMscfd of gas by 2011.
