    BHP Billiton has received formal approvals and will proceed with development of three shallow-water Pyrenees fields on Block WA-12-R in the Exmouth subbasin off Western Australia.
  • 07/30/2007 -- WoodMac: 2007 lease sales forecast at $1 billion
    Edinburgh consultant Wood Mackenzie Ltd. forecasts that proceeds from this year's Gulf of Mexico lease sales 204 and 205, based on past total winning bids, could reach $1 billion.

    Chevron North Sea Ltd., Aberdeen, operator of offshore Rosebank appraisal well 205/1-1 in the Faroe-Shetland Channel, west of Shetland, reported that the well has tested 6,600 b/d of what it called "good quality oil."

    Retamco Operating has found encouraging gas shows from the first of four wells planned in Western Colorado on its North Barcus Creek prospect in the Piceance basin in Rio Blanco County.

    Apache reported that its Jade-2x well in Egypt's Western Desert flowed on test 26.7 MMcfd of gas and 1,325 b/d of condensate from the Jurassic Alam El Bueib-6 formation.
  • 10/26/2007 -- Devon's Paktoa a giant Beaufort oil find
    Devon Canada discovered 240 million bbl of recoverable oil at the Paktoa C-60 wildcat while exploring for gas in the Canadian Beaufort Sea in 2006, the company said.

    Operators are producing gas-condensate from Mississippian Woodford shale in the Ardmore basin in southern Oklahoma and looking toward higher flow rates and lower well costs.
