    Southern Bay Operating said it holds enough acreage to support spudding a well every 60-90 days for 2-3 years for Austin chalk gas in the Grimes-Montgomery extension area of Giddings field on the Texas Gulf Coast.
  • 06/04/2007 -- Rockhopper prepares EIA for Falklands licenses
    Rockhopper Exploration has contracted RPS Energy to carry out an EIA to gather information for drilling its Ernest and other prospects on licenses PL023 and PL024 off the Falkland Islands.

    Marathon Oil Corp. has completed a successful appraisal of its Droshky discovery on Green Canyon Block 244 in the Gulf of Mexico 137 miles south-southwest of Venice, La.
  • 06/04/2007 -- Inpex plans drilling off Japan in late June
    In the first large-scale gas exploration off Japan in 30 years, Inpex Holdings Inc.'s Tokyo unit, Teikoku Oil Co., in late June will begin drilling for natural gas some 20 km off the northern Ibaraki Prefecture of Japan's Kanto region.

    Thailand's PTT Exploration & Production PLC (PTTEP) said another two exploration wells drilled on Block M9 in Myanmar's Gulf of Martaban have both tested natural gas.
