  • 06/26/2007 -- Petrovietnam, Petronas sign joint exploration deal
    Petrovietnam has signed a contract with Malaysia's Petronas Carigali Overseas to drill for oil and natural gas in fields in the Gulf of Tonkin.
  • 06/25/2007 -- EnerGulf plans first Namibian well by fall 2008
    EnerGulf Resources Inc., Houston, plans to drill Kunene No. 1 exploration well on Block 1711 off Namibia by Oct. 31, 2008.
  • 06/25/2007 -- Serica, BG drop swap of UK North Sea interests
    Serica Energy PLC and BG Group PLC have cancelled their plans to trade equal interests in two adjacent blocks they operate separately in the North Sea.
  • 06/25/2007 -- Exxoil plans two onshore wells in Tunisia
    Exxoil SA will drill two onshore wells in Tunisia by yearend under an agreement with Oil Field Services (OFS). OFS will use its Franks Cabot 900 rig to drill both wells.
  • 06/25/2007 -- Artumas makes gas, oil discovery in Tanzania
    Artumas Group Inc., Calgary, recently tested the Msimbati-1X (MS-1X) discovery well on its Mnazi Bay concession in southern Tanzania along with the MB-2 and MB-3 appraisal wells and reported that gas flow "exceeded expectations" for production potential.
  • 06/25/2007 -- Statoil proves gas in Algeria's Hassi Tidjerane West well
    Statoil AS has tested natural gas in Devonian sandstones with its Hassi Tidjerane West (HTJW-1) well in Algeria, the company reported. Statoil is operator of the project.

    Sydney-based Australian Worldwide Exploration has moved into Indonesia for the first time under a farm in deal with Abu Dhabi firm Aabar Petroleum Investments Co. off East Java.

    Houston independent Apache Corp. has completed a successful test of Theo 3-H, the first horizontal well at the Van Gogh development in the Exmouth basin 1,175 km off Western Australia.

    The Alabama Oil & Gas Board has reported a completion test earlier this year of a modest Devonian gas well off the southern flank of the Black Warrior basin.

    Granby Oil & Gas PLC has agreed to farm out to Fox Energy Exploration Ltd. a 16.66% interest in Granby's UK continental shelf Blocks 14/9a and 14/14b, which contain the Anglesey prospect.

    Eni SPA and Santos Ltd. are seeking to renegotiate their agreements with Indonesia for better incentives, according to an official with BP Migas, the country's oil and gas regulatory body.

    Anadarko Petroleum Corp. and its partners have discovered light oil with the Mahogany-1 exploration well drilled on deepwater West Cape Three Points block off Ghana.

    Nexen Inc., Calgary, has a $200 million budget in 2007 to develop 98 gross/41 net sections of Cretaceous Mannville coalbed methane in Alberta.

    Pertra ASA and its partners plan to drill two exploration wells in 2008 on Production License 321 in the Norwegian Sea.

    BPZ Energy Inc., Houston, tested the second of three wells mandated by International Finance Corp. in connection with the pending financing for BPZ's Corvina gas-to-power project in Peru.

    Buccaneer Resources signed a letter of intent with AnaTexas Offshore for redevelopment of Brazos Block 446-L's SE/4 field in the Gulf of Mexico's Pompano prospect off Matagorda County, Tex.
  • 06/18/2007 -- Storting approves Statoil's Gjøa field development
    Statoil ASA will develop the Gjøa field through subsea-completed wells tied back to a semisubmersible platform under a plan approved by Norway's parliament, the Storting.
